Job Summary

PURPOSE:

As a Shell Process Engineer you will play a critical role in driving manufacturing performance within a fast-paced production environment. You will leverage engineering expertise data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance safety quality and operational efficiency.

This role partners cross-functionally with operations quality and maintenance teams to solve complex process challenges optimize slurry chemistry and shell processes and lead initiatives that improve productivity and product performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance shell process quality using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Support daily production operations by troubleshooting process issues and implementing sustainable solutions
  • Monitor test and control slurry chemistry to maintain consistent process performance
  • Program troubleshoot and optimize robotic dipping systems to improve quality and throughput
  • Analyze scrap rework and process performance data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Maintain process stability through equipment monitoring parameter control and optimization efforts
  • Support engineering change management including review documentation validation and implementation
  • Participate in audits and quality investigations; implement and track corrective and preventive actions
  • Evaluate product designs and equipment capabilities to ensure manufacturability within existing processes
  • Lead and support capital projects and tooling initiatives to improve safety quality and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations quality and maintenance teams to achieve plant goals
  • Perform additional engineering and quality-related duties as assigned

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated data-driven problem solver with a proven track record of process improvement.
  • Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment including lifting materials up to 50 lbs.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Materials Science or related field)
  • Knowledge of investment casting technology processes and manufacturing methods are preferred.
