As a Shell Process Engineer you will play a critical role in driving manufacturing performance within a fast-paced production environment. You will leverage engineering expertise data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance safety quality and operational efficiency.
This role partners cross-functionally with operations quality and maintenance teams to solve complex process challenges optimize slurry chemistry and shell processes and lead initiatives that improve productivity and product performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance shell process quality using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Support daily production operations by troubleshooting process issues and implementing sustainable solutions
Monitor test and control slurry chemistry to maintain consistent process performance
Program troubleshoot and optimize robotic dipping systems to improve quality and throughput
Analyze scrap rework and process performance data to identify trends and drive improvements
Maintain process stability through equipment monitoring parameter control and optimization efforts
Support engineering change management including review documentation validation and implementation
Participate in audits and quality investigations; implement and track corrective and preventive actions
Evaluate product designs and equipment capabilities to ensure manufacturability within existing processes
Lead and support capital projects and tooling initiatives to improve safety quality and efficiency
Ensure compliance with environmental health safety and quality standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations quality and maintenance teams to achieve plant goals
Perform additional engineering and quality-related duties as assigned
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong analytical critical thinking and communication skills.
Self-motivated data-driven problem solver with a proven track record of process improvement.
Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment including lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Materials Science or related field)
Knowledge of investment casting technology processes and manufacturing methods are preferred.
