Job Overview

As a Mental Health Technician on the Behavioral Health Unit youll support nurses and clinical staff in caring for adults experiencing acute emotional behavioral or psychiatric difficulties. Youll assist with daily care safety monitoring therapeutic interactions and documentation to ensure patients receive safe highâquality patientâcentered care.

What Youll Do

  • Support patient safety through observation and rounding
  • Assist with hygiene mobility and daily care needs
  • Document patient behavior and care accurately
  • Assist with crisis intervention under RN direction
  • Work in environments involving sensitive emotional and behavioral situations
  • Safely lift or move up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation)

About the Behavioral Health Unit

The Behavioral Health Unit is a 10âbed inpatient unit caring for adults experiencing acute emotional behavioral or psychiatric crises. With a small skilled team and strong multidisciplinary collaboration the unit provides focused patientâcentered care in a calm structured environment ideal for building therapeutic and behavioral health skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Associates degree in psychology or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in healthcare or psychiatric settings preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire
