Job Summary
As a Principal TPM you will operate with complete independence in an area where business and architectural strategy is still being defined. You will own the Alexa-on-Tablets technical roadmap drive clarity across ambiguous problem spaces and deliver large-scale engineering programs that span multiple organizations including Tablet Software Alexa App Alexa AI/Domain Services and Hardware teams.
Key job responsibilities
Cross-org execution. Drive cross-organizational execution across Tablet OS/SW Alexa App Alexa domain teams (Voice Visual Smart Home Entertainment etc.) and Hardware teams to deliver integrated experiences on new tablet devices
Problem decomposition. Decompose complex ambiguous problems into clear workstreams milestones and deliverables minimizing redundant engineering effort across teams
Architecture & integration. Partner with engineering leaders to define system boundaries APIs and integration patterns between tablet platform and Alexa services
Org & architecture evolution. Drive organizational and architectural changes that enable teams to work independently while delivering cohesive customer experiences
Program mechanisms. Create and optimize mechanisms for cross-team coordination dependency management and long-term program health across the tablet-Alexa ecosystem
Executive communication. Represent complex technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to leadership (VP) building consensus across organizations with competing priorities
Risk identification & mitigation. Recognize failure patterns steer teams away from prior pitfalls and proactively resolve cross-team blockers
Resource & investment influence. Make the case for technology investments secure commitments from partner teams and ensure appropriate staffing for critical workstreams
Organizational amplification. Mentor TPMs across the organization contribute to TPM community best practices and raise the bar on program management excellence
- 10 years of engineering experience
- 7 years of technical product or program management experience
- 5 years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 8 years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
