The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is currently looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to support the Systems Engineering Long Range Radars (SE LRR) department. The SE LRR department provides subject matter expertise for concept development architectural design requirements generation & flow-down modeling and simulation systems analysis integration test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people processes technology and performance. This position is on site in Woburn MA.

What You Will Do

You will be leading a team to define radar system requirements design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development and integration & test teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities:

• Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
• Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
• Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
• Presenting plans designs and system performance to peers internal leadership and external customers.
• Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements.
• Assisting other systems engineers in their investigations and analysis

You will contribute to multiple capability areas including:

• Hypersonic threat defense.
• Tracking discrimination search and battle manager interfaces.
• Radar calibration diagnostics and deployed site support.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with Matlab C/C Java and/or DOORS.
• Experience with systems analysis algorithms requirements development issue investigation/resolution and/or signal processing techniques.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with BMC4I systems radar systems signal processing techniques and system-level requirements development documentation and maintenance including software architecture design.
• Strong analytical technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop technical solutions for complex issues including radar system concepts (detection discrimination tracking and signal processing algorithms) and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in developing documenting and maintaining processes methods tools and system models algorithms test vectors and analysis tools to support radar requirements and performance analysis.
• Experience with AI/ML applications in signal processing database design and algorithm enhancement.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and the ability to interface with customers to lead technical solutions for complex user needs.
• Previous military service or experience working within military or defense-related environments.

The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
