As a Principal Solutions Architect for the Developer Platform you will shape and guide the regional technical strategy for our most strategic customer and partner engagements across APJC and Greater China.

In this senior role you will partner closely with engineering leaders architects developers security teams and executives to define architectures validate technical approaches and confidently transition production workloads onto Cloudflare. Rather than focusing on a single account you will operate across a dynamic portfolio of strategic engagements ensuring broad ecosystem-wide impact.

A central part of your role involves translating your field experience into reusable organizational knowledge. You will create architectural frameworks actively mentor fellow architects and champion the needs of regional customers directly to our product teams. This is a senior individual-contributor role that beautifully balances hands-on architecture executive collaboration regional technical leadership and mentorship. You will report directly to the Director of Developer GTM APJC.

• Shape Strategy: Guide the technical strategy for strategic Developer Platform customers and partners across the region.
• Design & Translate: Transform complex business application security and operational requirements into secure scalable and highly maintainable architectures on Cloudflare.
• Collaborate & Advise: Partner with engineering executives and senior stakeholders to advise on application modernization distributed systems AI architecture and platform strategy.
• Facilitate Discovery: Lead architecture discovery sessions technical workshops proofs of concept design reviews and production-readiness discussions in a supportive consultative manner.
• Create Frameworks: Establish reference architectures architectural standards and governance patterns that empower our customers and the broader APJC field organization.
• Stay Hands-On: Build review and troubleshoot representative applications and integrations to stay deeply connected to the technology.
• Champion the Region: Serve as a Principal technical leader through presentations public speaking written guidance and internal enablement.
• Mentor & Grow: Support develop and mentor solutions architects and technical colleagues navigating complex customer engagements.
• Bridge Teams: Build effective continuous feedback loops between customers field teams and product leaders translating regional needs into actionable product and go-to-market recommendations.

By the end of your first year you will have:

• Become a trusted technical advisor and collaborative partner to strategic customers partners and internal leaders.
• Established clear actionable technical strategies and adoption plans for priority engagements.
• Successfully partnered with customers to validate and launch their production workloads on Cloudflare.
• Published reusable reference architectures and field guidance that elevate the entire team.
• Empowered the field organizations ability to position architect and deliver Cloudflares developer and AI solutions.
• Cultivated the technical leadership of your colleagues through active mentorship and enablement.
• Provided product teams with consistent evidence-based insights into regional customer requirements and adoption barriers.
• Become recognized as a supportive authoritative Principal Developer Platform architect across APJC.

• Meaningful Experience: A strong background in solutions architecture software engineering technical consulting or a related customer-facing technical role. While candidates at the Principal level often bring 15 years of experience we care most about your demonstrated scope impact and ability to navigate complex architectural challenges.
• Language Skills: Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese with the ability to comfortably lead technical and executive discussions in both languages to support clients in the Greater China region which form a significant part of your portfolio.
• Strategic Collaboration: A track record of guiding complex technical strategies involving developers infrastructure teams security stakeholders and senior executives.
• Technical Depth: Deep working knowledge of distributed application architecture (compute storage networking security reliability and observability).
• Hands-On Capability: Software-development experience including the ability to build or review production-quality applications and proofs of concept (preferably in JavaScript or TypeScript).
• Ecosystem Knowledge: A strong understanding of modern web technologies serverless/cloud-native architectures modern software-delivery practices and at least one major public cloud platform.
• Influential Leadership: A proven ability to influence without direct authority thoughtfully mentor colleagues and turn individual solutions into shared organizational capabilities.
• Communication: Excellent written presentation and facilitation skills tailored for developer architectural and executive audiences.
• Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% primarily within APJC and mainland China (supported by flexible planning).

• Experience building and operating production applications on Cloudflares Developer Platform.
• Experience designing AI inference agentic retrieval-augmented generation or data-intensive applications.
• Familiarity with customers technology partners or developer communities in Greater China.
• A background in public speaking technical writing open-source contribution or community leadership.
• Relevant cloud or architecture certifications.
• A degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline OR equivalent practical experience.
