Northwest Talent Solutions (NWTS) is conducting a confidential search for a Principal Epoxy Chemist to join the Adhesive Technologies organization of a global innovation leader.
This is an opportunity for an accomplished scientist to do more than formulate products. Youll help create the next generation of high-performance epoxy technologies taking new materials from concept and laboratory development through scale-up and commercialization.
If you have deep expertise in UV/light-stable epoxy systems for outdoor applications this is the experience were particularly interested in.
As a senior technical contributor youll:
- Design and commercialize innovative 1K and 2K epoxy adhesive formulations
- Lead development of UV/light-stable epoxy technologies for outdoor applications
- Apply expertise in UV degradation and stabilization to improve long-term durability and weatherability
- Drive product development from ideation through formulation testing scale-up and commercialization
- Evaluate emerging technologies and translate advancements in materials science into commercially viable products
- Lead performance testing validation and technical problem-solving
- Develop new intellectual property and contribute to patent generation
- Present research and technical findings to leadership customers global teams and technical audiences
- Collaborate across R&D manufacturing marketing and other global functions to successfully launch new products
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior chemists
- Maintain rigorous laboratory safety regulatory PPE and 5S standards
The most important qualification for this search is hands-on expertise developing UV/light-stable epoxy systems.
Youll be especially well aligned if you bring:
- 5 years of experience with UV/light-stable 1K and 2K epoxy systems for outdoor applications
- Deep knowledge of epoxy formulation polymer/materials science and structure-property relationships
- Expertise in UV stabilization degradation mechanisms weatherability and outdoor durability
- A successful record of taking products from concept through commercialization
- Experience with formulation development performance testing and validation
- Ability to independently lead multiple technically complex development programs
- Strong scientific problem-solving and experimental design capabilities
- Excellent written verbal and presentation skills
- Experience developing patents or other intellectual property is highly valued
- Technical leadership or mentoring experience is preferred
A Masters or PhD in Chemistry Chemical Engineering Polymer Science Materials Science or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates with a bachelors degree and significant relevant product-development experience will also be considered.
