Principal Engineer Signal Integrity, AWS Hardware Engineering Services

Principal Engineer - Signal Integrity (AWS Hardware Engineering) Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team focusing on signal integrity challenges in our next-generation server platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware software and cloud computing solving complex technical challenges that impact millions of AWS servers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical initiatives to resolve signal integrity challenges across PCIe Gen6 implementations and system management interfaces
- Drive architectural decisions for high-speed interconnects in AWSs GenAI server platforms
- Collaborate with silicon vendors to resolve complex multi-vendor integration challenges
- Develop and implement comprehensive validation methodologies for both high-speed and low-speed interfaces
- Provide technical leadership in solving critical signal integrity issues affecting server stability and performance

- Deep expertise in PCIe Gen5/6 specifications and electrical standards
- Extensive experience solving signal integrity challenges at 64GT/s and above
- Proven track record in debugging and resolving I2C and SPI interface issues in complex server environments
- Strong background in using advanced test equipment (high-end oscilloscopes protocol analyzers)
- Experience with SerDes operation retimer and switch designs
- Demonstrated success in multi-vendor debugging and system integration
- Track record of transforming unstable implementations into reliable production-grade solutions

- Experience in hyperscale computing environments
- Background in hardware-based security implementations
- Expertise in automated validation systems
- Experience working with silicon vendors on pre-production implementations

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
