Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo CA is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to be part of their product development teams.

What You Will Do:

• Design develop and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile collaborative environment delivering builds

• Demonstrate critical thinking skills the ability to thrive in small empowered teams and an intense desire to directly enable our customers success

• Troubleshoot debug and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments

• Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications including system architecture and design specifications

• Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement

• Work collaboratively with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze implement and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline

• Ability to get and maintain TS and Special Access Programs (SAP) to meet programs clearance requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience with software development test and/or integration using C C

• Experience with Scripting languages like Python.

• Experience with System and Software blended skills including::

• a) Optimization and Analysis

• b) System of Systems Resource Management

• c) Modeling and Simulation kill chain analysis

• d) Tracking Software Integration output analysis and algorithm development

• Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.U.S. citizenshipis required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Bench support familiarity with platform engineering tools

• Clearly communicate plans status and issues to teammates and program leadership

• Ensure the successful integration of software components into delivered products

• Experience in Object Oriented and scripting languages

• Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with time-critical requirements

• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems

• Experience working in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with developing testing and integrating software using C / C or modern software development language

• Experience with data structures algorithms and software design principles
• Software development lifecycle experience
• Excellent communications skills and team collaboration skills
• Self-motivated
• Proven ability and desire to facilitate career growth and knowledge transfer
• Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

  The salary range for this role is 118300 USD - 224900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
