Title: Pressure Washer Operator

Salary: $24.00-$26.00/hour plus benefits

Reports to: Program Supervisor

Status: 30-40 hours/week Non-Exempt (Weekend/Evening Work Required)

*This position is limited to a two year maximum term and is dependent on funding.*


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Pressure Washing Program is a two-year workforce development initiative that combines paid hands-on work experience with structured training and support. The program is designed to help participants build valuable job skills gain work experience and prepare for long-term career success - both within and beyond the organization. Participants receive on-the-job experience as well as ongoing guidance mentorship and workforce readiness training with the goal of supporting successful employment transitions and career advancement.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Pressure Washer Operator is responsible for performing scheduled cleaning of San Franciscos public garbage disposal receptacles or sidewalks and other designated job sites in a professional and quality-focused manner. Duties include operating pressure washing and scrubbing equipment to remove surface dirt grime oil grease exhaust film and stains. This position also participates in monthly training sessions to build additional skills knowledge and resources that support long-term job readiness. This is a temporary program-based position within a two-year workforce development track.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform cleaning duties such as pressure washing garbage receptacles and sidewalks to remove dirt grime oil grease exhaust film and stains.
  • Conduct maintenance inspections and make necessary repairs on assigned vehicles equipment and project areas to ensure proper functioning.
  • Manage operation of the cleaning truck including loading and securing pressure washing equipment filling tanks with water chemicals and fuel and restocking supplies.
  • Safely dispose of wastewater and ensure proper barricading of drains to maintain full compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Follow all instructions for the proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Deliver high-quality service at each job site maintaining professional standards.
  • Comply with all traffic laws and organizational driving protocols while operating program vehicles.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervisor regarding job arrival times progress updates and completion status.
  • Actively participate in company training sessions covering safety cleaning procedures quality standards and organizational policies.
  • Participate in monthly training sessions to build additional skills knowledge and resources that support long-term job readiness.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid drivers license and clean DMV driving record to pass insurance requirements for company vehicle usage.
  • Willingness to learn safe operation of program vehicles and pressure washing equipment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and use maps or navigation apps
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role including lifting up to 25 lbs. standing for extended periods bending squatting and loading/unloading equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme hot or cold wet or dry and other weather elements.
  • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves goggles coveralls masks and hearing protection
  • Basic verbal communication and reading comprehension skills with a desire to improve through program training
