Position Overview:

Friends School of Baltimore is looking for Pre-Primary Extended Day Counselors. These positions work with students in the Extended Day program to facilitate a safe and engaging after school program.

Hours are between 2:45 PM and 6:00 PM Monday - Friday on School Days only.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Must be 18 years of age. Some college credits required. (experience working in education may be substituted for the education requirement.)
  2. 90-Hour Child Care certification
  3. Experience: Experience: Desire to work with / teach students in Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten Child Care or Youth Camp experience a plus.
  4. Grooming and appearance: Friends School seeks to maintain a neat and professional image at all times.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Problem solving skills capable of dealing with multiple tasks while maintaining composure
  2. A positive attitude good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be resourceful
  3. Able to work independently without constant supervision
  4. Understanding of students needs and an ability to handle conflicts according to school procedures
