Job Summary

Position SummaryThe Pre-Engineering & Technology Teacher is responsible for delivering an engaging standards-based STEM curriculum that prepares students for future success in engineering technology computer science and related career pathways. The teacher will create authentic project-based learning experiences that integrate engineering design robotics computer science and technology while fostering creativity critical thinking collaboration and successful candidate will support an inclusive learning environment where all students have access to rigorous hands-on STEM experiences and will collaborate with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning and continuous ResponsibilitiesThe Pre-Engineering & Technology Teacher will:* Design and deliver engaging STEM instruction aligned with Rhode Island K12 Standards and district curriculum.* Develop and implement project-based hands-on learning experiences that integrate engineering technology mathematics and foundational concepts in:* Engineering design and the engineering design process* Computer science and programming* Robotics and automation* Technology systems and emerging technologies* Guide students through the design construction testing and evaluation of engineering projects such as bridges catapults Rube Goldberg machines robotics systems and other design challenges.* Incorporate technology integration and authentic performance assessments into daily instruction.* Foster creativity innovation collaboration communication and critical thinking through real-world problem solving.* Utilize instructional technology to enhance teaching and student learning.* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners in an inclusive classroom environment.* Support and participate in co-teaching models when applicable.* Collaborate with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to improve instructional practices and student achievement.* Participate in ongoing professional learning related to STEM education engineering computer science and instructional best practices.* Maintain effective communication with students families colleagues and administrators.* Support district and school improvement initiatives and educational reform efforts.* Maintain a safe organized and engaging laboratory/classroom environment.
