Job Summary: --

Apply insulating materials to pipes or ductwork or other mechanical systems in order to help control and maintain temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

• Apply remove and repair insulation on industrial equipment pipes ductwork or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers tanks and vessels to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
• Cover seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers canvas strips sealants tape cement or asphalt mastic.
• Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed and methods of installation based on factors such as location surface shape and equipment use.
• Fit insulation around obstructions and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.
• Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.
• Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces using tape measures handsaws knives and scissors.
• Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives cement or asphalt or by attaching metal pins to surfaces.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Select appropriate insulation such as fiberglass Styrofoam or cork based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material.
• Distribute insulating materials evenly into small spaces within floors ceilings or walls using blowers and hose attachments.
• Fill blower hoppers with insulating materials.

Qualifications: --

• Minimum three (3)years experience Industrial Insulating experience.
• Four (4) years experience in power plant or maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically via DocuSign
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees alarms and other job-related noises
• Visual acuity depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
