Position Title: Power Electronics - Principle Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture design and technical direction of advanced power electronic systems including:
- Power converters
- Inverters
- Medium-voltage motor drives
- Grid-connected power conversion solutions
- Drive innovation in converter topologies to optimize performance efficiency reliability and cost
- Serve as a subject matter expert for grid-tied power converter design and utility grid interaction
- Define technical requirements and lead design reviews risk assessments and mitigation activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with controls mechanical manufacturing quality and supplier teams
- Mentor engineering teams and establish best practices design methodologies and technical standards
- Support product qualification manufacturing and field issue resolution
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and advanced R&D initiatives
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in power electronics design and converter topologies
- Hands-on experience designing and developing medium-voltage and high-power electronic systems
- Experience with grid-connected power converters including:
- Grid synchronization
- PLLs (Phase-Locked Loops)
- Current and voltage control
- Power factor control
- Grid code compliance
- Experience designing low- and high-frequency transformers for medium-voltage applications
- Strong understanding of:
- Magnetic materials
- Insulation coordination
- Thermal performance
- Electromagnetic behavior
- Experience developing control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink
- Knowledge of PWM techniques soft/hard switching and system stability analysis
- Familiarity with high-voltage insulation systems and applicable IEC IEEE and UL standards
- Proven ability to lead complex technical programs and make sound engineering tradeoff decisions
- Masters degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with:
- EMI/EMC design
- Thermal management
- Reliability engineering
- Manufacturing support and product qualification
- Knowledge of regional and international grid standards and compliance requirements
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring abilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to engineering teams customers and leadership
- Experience preparing technical reports white papers and presentations
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment
