Our Effector Guidance team is seeking a professional Power Design Electrical Engineer to assume a key role within the System PowerAnalogand Controls Department.

What You Will Do

• Design analyze (including thermal considerations) simulate and test power conversion circuitry potentiallyutilizingany standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck boost buck-boost)including modules and discrete designs.

• Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.

• Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule.

• Present reviews of technical datatoprogram leadership and technical staff.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in ScienceTechnology Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior
  relevant experience

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in design analysis simulation and/ortest experience with linear converters.

• Experiencewithany of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck boostbuck-boost.

• Experience withdesign analysis and test with analog electronic design and analysis including FET BJT and/orOp-amp circuits.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Labexperiencespecific to power electronics and/or controls electronics

• Demonstrated use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout

• Demonstrated ability to document designs and circuit performance verification

• Understanding of fundamental power conversion concepts components and techniques

• Demonstrated understanding of linear controls and motor drive techniques.

• Basic understanding of commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes

• Design analysis and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback half-bridge full-bridge and/or push-pull. Design scope will ideally include stability.

• Experience with performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades and/or with system-level power architecture trades including power converter specification development experience.

• Professional experience guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation (direct experience with such tools is adequate to fulfill this requirement).

• Familiarity with circuit simulator SIMPLIS Saberand/or analysis tool Mathcad.

• Experience with Mentor GraphicsDxDesigner and/orHyperlynx.

• Experience with acting as a liaison between program and functional management.

• Experience with digital power control.

• Experience with military specifications.

• Experience with transformer and inductor design considerations.

• Design experience with Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) concerns.

• Design experience with voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW.

• Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value.

• Experience with proposal development.

• Ability to design to meet concerns of adjacent disciplines such as thermal structural mechanical reliability and quality.

• Ability to be a self-starter and be able to function in a dynamic environment.

• Strong interpersonal leadership communication and time management skills.

The salary range for this role is 68900 USD - 131100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
