Position Highlights

The Departments of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Arizona invite applications for a postdoctoral research position in gravitational physics and/or extreme electrodynamics. The successful candidate will join a collaborative research group that includes faculty Sam Gralla and Vasilis Paschalidis affiliate faculty Paul Anderson and a community of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. The group also works alongside adjacent faculty including CK Chan Dan Marrone and Chad Bender.

We welcome applicants whose research interests overlap with or complement our work in theoretical and computational general relativity quantum field theory in curved spacetime and background electromagnetic fields radio and optical interferometry and compact object astrophysics. This position offers an opportunity to engage with a broad range of complementary research areas within a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will carry out an independentresearch program in one or more of the targeted areas and participate regularlyin group activities.
  • It is expected butnot required that the applicant will also collaborate with other members ofthe group.

  • Demonstrated ability to carry out an independent research program.
