Job Summary

Title:Post & Print Clerk

Position Purpose:

This position provides comprehensive operational support by bridging central print operations and storefront retail mail services. The clerk ensures the high-quality production of campus materials while delivering exceptional customer service managing package processing and offering cost-effective shipping solutions.

Job Duties:

  • Involved with daily on-demand print intake file preparation and commercial finishing while ensuring Bates brand compliance for recruitment materials and event signage.
  • Operates point-of-sale (POS) systems processing customer transactions and rate-shopping among FedEx UPS and U.S. Mail for most efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Processes and scans student packages into tracking systems distributes mail and operates campus work vehicles (golf carts minivans or cargo vans) for delivery routes.
  • Safely operates digital print machinery mail meters sealers label makers folders and inserting equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma or GED and a valid drivers license are required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in graphic arts or print production is preferred.

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in retail customer-facing service and print production preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Commitment to equity and inclusion and serving the needs of a culturally and educationally diverse community
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact and assist customers in a pleasant and professional manner sense of humor appreciated
  • Basic understanding of tracking/shipping software and Adobe Creative Suite preferred or willingness to learn new programs

Hiring Range:The hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $22.31. Placement within the range depends on experience and other factors.
