Job Summary
- SCOPE OF ROLE:
Provide quality cleanliness safety appearance and general upkeep of exterior grounds. This position performs routine landscaping ground maintenance identifies maintenance concerns and ensures outdoor areas remain clean safe and presentable for tenants staff and visitors.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility. This includes but is not limited to floor care (mopping sweeping buffing stripping and waxing) cleaning bathrooms emptying trash separating recyclables emptying garbage wiping windows and walls and cleaning stairways.
- Maintain lawns landscaped areas gardens sidewalks walkways and other exterior areas.
- Perform seasonal ground maintenance including; snow/ice-related support as assigned.
- Remove litter debris leaves branches and other waste from ground.
- Submit and complete work orders service logs or other documentation.
- Order maintenance supplies as needed (Bell System) ordering cleaning supplies paper supplies lightbulbs garbage bags etc. and maintaining biweekly inventory.
- Assist Staff with special events by setting the chairs and tables up for use making sure the area is clean and safe for
- Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure that all items are in good working condition.
- Assist in moving and storing program supplies office furniture office equipment dorm furniture consumer belongings and other items in and around the facility when and where appropriate.

- Must wear SUS maintenance uniform and must maintain uniform so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
- Attend staff meetings group supervision and training as assigned and required.
- Responds to consumer needs promptly accurately and with courtesy and respect.
- Represents the organization in a positive and appropriate manner to outside resources.
- Opening and closing the park in accordance with posted operating hours.
- Unlocking and securing entrance gates.
- Conducting routine inspections of park grounds equipment landscaping and amenities.
- Collecting litter and removing trash.
- Maintaining pathways seating areas and other hardscape elements.
- Monitoring and maintaining landscaped areas including watering weeding pruning mulching and seasonal plant care.
- Monitoring and maintaining the irrigation system including coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance safety or security concerns.
- Addressing minor repairs and coordinating larger repairs with management and outside contractors as needed.
- Responding to weather-related conditions and assisting with seasonal maintenance activities.
- Ensuring that the park remains welcoming clean and in good condition for public use.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance
- knowledge/experience working in the social service or related field
- Experience working within a residential / Crisis / 24-hour service setting
- Basic computer skills in Word Excel and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance tools and basic repairs
- Able to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors and in varied weather conditions
- Ability to lift carry push and pull equipment and materials as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a plus
