Talarico for Texas is building a movement to take back power for working people. The campaign is seeking a full-time Policy & Special Projects Associate to produce high-quality policy research and support various cross-departmental projects.
Responsibilities
Research policy issues ongoing policy debates and Congressional actions
Draft one-pagers issue briefs and talking points
Help build and maintain relationships with community leaders policy experts and advocacy groups to gather diverse perspectives on policy issues
Track and draft responses to incoming inquiries and feedback about James policy priorities
Support special projects in collaboration with other campaign departments
Requirements
Qualifications
Prior campaign or policy experience is preferred but not required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional critical thinking skills attention to detail and organizational skills
Discretion when dealing with sensitive information
Ability to learn quickly implement feedback and meet tight deadlines under pressure
Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large
A policy writing sample (research or policy paper policy op-ed)
Benefits
Reports to: Policy Director Location: Austin Texas (statewide travel sometimes required)
Salary: $5000 per month
Benefits: Health care paid time off sick leave
