Policy & Special Projects Associate

About the Role

Talarico for Texas is building a movement to take back power for working people. The campaign is seeking a full-time Policy & Special Projects Associate to produce high-quality policy research and support various cross-departmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Research policy issues ongoing policy debates and Congressional actions
• Draft one-pagers issue briefs and talking points
• Help build and maintain relationships with community leaders policy experts and advocacy groups to gather diverse perspectives on policy issues
• Track and draft responses to incoming inquiries and feedback about James policy priorities
• Support special projects in collaboration with other campaign departments

Qualifications

• Prior campaign or policy experience is preferred but not required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional critical thinking skills attention to detail and organizational skills
• Discretion when dealing with sensitive information
• Ability to learn quickly implement feedback and meet tight deadlines under pressure
• Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large
