Job Summary
Patrols in WUPD vehicles or on foot to enforce City of Rock Hill and State of South Carolina laws and regulations and Winthrop University policies. Issues citations for moving and parking violations. Investigates complaints and disturbances using the appropriate techniques and makes arrests as necessary. Prepares various reports and forms including incident citation accident and information reports case files tow sheets and field interview cards. Performs building security inspections. Responds to requests for assistance. Monitors parking areas and crosswalks and reports maintenance needs. Controls traffic during fire drills and emergencies.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma; certification as a Law Enforcement Officer by the South Carolina Justice Academy or willingness to obtain and maintain; certification as a NCIC Full Function Operator by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division or willingness to obtain and maintain; and a valid drivers license required. Must reside in South Carolina or be willing to relocate to South Carolina. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous related law enforcement experience highly desired.
