Job Summary
The Goleta Union School District (GUSD) serves approximately 3384 students in preschool through sixth grade across nine elementary schools. All schools offer transitional kindergarten and strong support services including special education and mental health in addition to after-school care at all nine schools supporting approximately 1500 students. GUSD offers embedded programs to address specific needs of gifted students and English Learners across the district. Each school maintains a 1.01.5 full time positions to support intervention needs for all small class sizes a focus on a science based approach to literacy STEAM and strong community partnerships GUSD is committed to a district vision providing powerful instruction purposeful individualization and productive partnerships that lead to positive evidence of student growth and success.
Position hours are 7:30am to 1:30pm Monday through Supervisor: Under the direction of an assigned Principal supervises a variety of student activities e.g. in the cafeteria and restrooms at gates on the playground in hallways on campus and in parking lots; monitors students behavior at school e.g. in the cafeteria and restrooms at gates on the playground in hallways on campus and in parking lots; performs a variety of routine clerical duties in support of assigned students; supervises students on campus suspension and detention. Crossing Guard: Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor escort school children safely across designated street intersections; assist in directing traffic to and from school grounds.
