The Planning Analyst will be responsible for:
- Collaboration across agencies and with councils of governments and municipalities to ensure the effective implementation of Public Act 25-1 .
- Providing input and guidance to key stakeholders on the creation of tools consistent with the requirements of the Public Act along with any relevant data where appropriate and when requested.
- Working closely with the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) on the creation of the 10-year housing growth targets providing feedback and support as needed to refine the methodology to calculate housing needs.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement and the public feedback process to ensure that the final number considers the DOH housing targets and state goals.
- Implementing the Municipal Affordable Housing Technical Assistance initiative which will provide resources and support to communities seeking to implement their existing affordable housing plans.
- Participating as needed on the newly created Council on Housing Development.
- Collaborating with OPM and the Office of Responsible Growth relative to data reporting standards for towns.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Performs highly specialized complex duties in a planning and program area;
- Supervises planning development coordination and administration of program operations;
- Formulates recommends implements policies and guidelines for program;
- Acts as liaison with operating units agencies and outside officials regarding program policies and procedures;
- Provides technical and consultative services regarding program;
- Prepares reports and correspondence;
- Speaks before groups regarding program;
- May testify before legislative committees;
- Performs related duties as required.

- Knowledge of relevant programs in private agencies other states and at national level;

- College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelors degree.
- A Masters degree in planning public administration or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
- Experience providing technical assistance specifically related to housing directly to municipal staff and leadership.
- Experience at the Planning Region/Council of Government level.
- Experience monitoring and analyzing legislation requirements or regulations and translating them into clear actionable policies procedures or guidance documents.
