We are seeking a motivated professional to join our growing Nevada and California environmental teams someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality work enjoys solving complex environmental challenges and thrives in a dynamic project-driven environment. This is a Staff hourly non-exempt position
The Ideal Candidate
If you value Wood Rodgers unique people-first culture and are eager to contribute to its continued growth this role offers a dynamic range of responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to be mentored while participating in the following:
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teamsincluding transportation civil engineering planning surveying geotechnical landscape architecture and environmental professionalsto review site plans assess projects and develop solutions that minimize environmental impacts.
- Conduct site visits collect field data and perform biological and aquatic surveys to support environmental analysis and reporting.
- Assist in preparing environmental documentation and technical reports in compliance with NEPA CEQA and TRPA requirements.
- Navigating environmental planning and permitting processes by coordinating with local state and federal agencies to secure necessary regulatory approvals.
- Assist in preparing permit applications monitor construction activities for compliance with environmental regulations permits and design specifications throughout project lifecycles.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and support informed project decision-making.
- Assist in supporting project delivery through research and project scoping.
- Build client relationships.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in environmental planning biology ecology or related field.
- 3 years of relevant experience in environmental planning permitting or related work.
- Working knowledge of key environmental regulations (e.g. ESA CWA NEPA CEQA TRPA NDEP).
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Highly organized detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Experience with GPS/GIS and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in varied and sometimes challenging environmental conditions.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as needed.
A note on hourly pay ranges
The range does not reflect geographic variations and may fluctuate above or below the stated amount. Offers will be based on several factors including experience education skills licensure certifications training and location. Base pay is just one part of the comprehensive compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers. If you feel you meet the requirements but may be outside of the pay range please apply anyway and lets talk through it.
