Job Summary

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to work in the Planetarium auditorium. The workresponsibilities of this classification include: developing and presentingPlanetarium shows; coordinating and overseeing daily operations of thePlanetarium; assisting the Planetarium Director; and performingadministrative duties. This position works under the general supervision of thePlanetarium Director.

Minimum Qualifications

HighSchool Diploma or GED equivalent and two (2) years of customer serviceincluding experience with public speaking.

NOTE: Qualifying education training and experiencethat provide the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to perform the jobwill be considered.

Special Requirements

Must be willing to work non-standard 40hours per week generally within 8:00am to 6:00pm with extendedhours on weekdays and weekends be available on evenings and holidays on aregular and/or rotating basis work around moderate to high noise levels work long periods in thesun and work at night standing and operating telescopes. Must be willing to use ladders and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Kind of Examination

Applications are being accepted to fill one (1) current vacancy and any vacancies that may occur from the date of the established list of eligible candidates. The current vacancy is with the Montgomery Zoo. Applicants will be screened and qualified based on the education and experience on their online applications.
