Job Summary

The PKI Service Desk Technician provides Tier I and Tier II technical support for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Common Access Cards (CAC) and identity and access management services. The role is responsible for issuing and managing digital certificates supporting authentication and encryption services maintaining PKI systems troubleshooting security access issues and ensuring secure access to enterprise networks and mission-critical systems while complying with cybersecurity standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier I and Tier II support for PKI-related incidents and service requests.
  • Issue renew revoke suspend and recover digital certificates.
  • Support Common Access Card (CAC) PKI and Registration Authority (RA/LRA) operations.
  • Manage certificate lifecycle including enrollment installation renewal and recovery.
  • Troubleshoot authentication encryption certificate validation and smart card issues.
  • Support SSL/TLS certificate installation renewal and maintenance.
  • Create modify renew and deactivate privileged user accounts.
  • Monitor PKI infrastructure for availability performance and security compliance.
  • Review system logs alerts and audit records to identify security issues.
  • Assist with software updates system maintenance and PKI infrastructure changes.
  • Support deployment and testing of new PKI applications and services.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity server network and application teams.
  • Maintain documentation certificate inventories and support records.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II Certification or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems or related field or 2 years of relevant IT experience.
  • Experience supporting Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management authentication encryption and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience monitoring and maintaining PKI systems.
  • Ability to obtain required Computing Environment (CE) certification within 90 days if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT systems within secure environments.
  • Experience with certificate lifecycle management and PKI administration.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance and identity management best practices.
