High School Physics Teacher
Arlington High Schoolis seeking a dynamic and student-centered High School Physics Teacher to join our Science Department.
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging standards-aligned physics instruction using inquiry-based and phenomenon-driven approaches
Design and facilitate laboratory investigations and hands-on learning experiences
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners
Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and student success
Maintain a positive inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Physics Science Education or related field
Appropriate state licensure (Physics or General Science 912)
Strong content knowledge in physics
Preferred:
Experience with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
Experience teaching AP Physics
Familiarity with inquiry-based and student-centered instructional practice
Candidates for teaching positions must be appropriately licensed for the position. Candidates must also be collaborative professionals who will work with generaland special educators throughout the School and District. Must be willing to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students in the addition Arlington expects teachers to work diligently and collaboratively to implement the Districts approved curriculum.
Arlington has a well-established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in the 2026-2027 school year will be August 31 2026. However new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
