Job Summary
Gillette Childrens is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Physician Compensation Program Specialist to join our team!
Purpose of Position:
The Physician Compensation Program Specialist is the primary physician-facing partner for Gillettes compensation program. As a subject matter expert in physician compensation this role is dedicated to helping physicians understand navigate and succeed within the compensation model through individualized coaching clear communication of performance data and targeted education.

The Program Specialist embodies these values by working closely with physicians human resources the physician compensation data analyst revenue cycle teams the Physician Compensation Advisory Committee and administrative and operational leadership to support physician engagement and program understanding. This position plays a critical role in aligning physician incentives with organizational goals enhancing transparency and fostering a culture of accountability and trust.
Through individualized physician coaching cross-functional collaboration and targeted training the Program Specialist ensures physicians are equipped to engage with the compensation models performance expectations. This role partners closely with the physician compensation data analyst which owns the back-end wRVU calculations and reporting as well as the revenue cycle team so the Specialist can focus on meaningful relationship-centered conversations that support clinical excellence transparency and physician engagement.
Compensation and Benefits Information:
The annual salary range for this opportunity is $41444 to $62171 with a median salary of $51807 (adjust for 0.5 FTE). Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Core Responsibilities and Duties:
Compensation Reporting & Communication
- Review and interpret compensation and productivity reports prepared by the data analytics team ensuring accuracy and readiness for physician-facing delivery
- Communicate performance reports to individual physicians and physician leaders presenting data in a clear accessible and actionable manner
- Serve as the primary liaison between physicians the data analytics and revenue cycle teams communicating physician feedback flagging data questions and ensuring reported information is understood and trusted
- Maintain working knowledge of compensation benchmarks FMV guidelines and regulatory considerations to accurately respond to physician questions and escalate compliance concerns as appropriate.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Physician Engagement and Coaching
- Meet with section chiefs and individual physicians to review performance metrics and bonus opportunities
- Collaborate with certified coding resources to provide guidance on improving documentation and coding practices
- Partner with operational leaders to identify and remove barriers to physician productivity
- Serve as a liaison between physicians operations and clinical departments on compensation-related needs
- Coordinate and/or deliver training sessions for physicians and administrative leadership on physician compensation RVUs and key components of the compensation program
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to support physician engagement and program success
Other
- Act as a resource to staff on physician compensation matters including policies and processes
- Participate in physician compensation surveys to support benchmarking and compliance
- Complete special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Business Human Resources or related field; or equivalent experience
- 3 years experience in physician relations provider education healthcare administration or a role with direct engagement with physicians or clinical providers
- Experience working with performance-based compensation models in a medical group hospital or health system
Preferred
- Masters degree in Business Administration Healthcare Administration or related field
- Experience with EMR systems such as Oracle Health (Cerner)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated skill in influencing building trust and fostering collaborative relationships with physicians and organizational leaders
- Working knowledge of physician compensation structures productivity metrics professional coding Relative Value Units (RVUs) and documentation practices sufficient to educate and coach physicians effectively
- Ability to interpret and clearly present compensation and productivity data provided by analytics partners translating findings into actionable guidance for physicians
- Familiarity with Fair Market Value (FMV) Stark Law and other regulatory considerations affecting physician compensation
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex compensation and productivity concepts to physicians administrative and executive leadership in an accessible engaging way
- Excellent communication negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive compensation matters with empathy discretion and professionalism
- Experience facilitating presentations or training in a clinical or healthcare setting
- Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with industry trends in physician compensation and healthcare operations
