Physician Associate Workforce Health MSH Per Diem

Under the direct supervision of a physician The (per diem) Physicians Associate provides diagnostic therapeutic and preventive health care services. Provides a broad spectrum of comprehensive medical services treating patients with physical ailments which range from superficial injuries to acute medical disorders. Case mix complexity consists primarily of routine cases in a structured environment with ample supervision.

1. Assessespatient health by interview and by obtaining and/or updating medical patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

2. Performsphysical examinations and provides treatment and counsel. Recognizes and evaluatespatients who require the immediate attention of a physician and whennecessary initiates emergency medical treatment without supervision.

3. Determinesabnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests andlaboratory studies. Follows-up on x-rays and laboratory data. Interpretsdiagnostic test results.

4. Performstherapeutic procedures such as injections immunizations suturingpost-operative care and management of wound care and infections. Utilizesdiagnostic techniques such as observation palpation percussion orauscultation.

5. Counselspatients regarding prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.

6. Maintainsaccurate and complete patient records. Develops and implements patientmanagement plans records procedure and progress notes and discharge summariesand assists in provision of continuity of care.

7. Maintainsa safe and clean work environment by ensuring compliance with infection-controlpolicies and protocols and other safety procedures and regulations.

8. Developsand provides education related to pre and post-operative evaluation andtreatment plans.

9. Providesoversight of all surgical cases related to scheduling and medical clearance.

10. Provides assistance tophysicians during surgery or complicated medical procedures.

11. May prescribe medication .

12. Performs other relatedduties.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $95.99 - $95.99 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need.
