POSITION OVERVIEW

Sub-specialty: Radiology Physician Assistant

Department: RP North Houston

Reports to: Practice Director

Location: Houston TX

POSITION SUMMARY
  • Assist in direct patient care services including inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow up
  • Perform procedures such as paracentesis thoracentesis venous access biopsies and lumbar punctures. Prior experience in performing these procedures is a plus but not required
  • Assist in outpatient Interventional Radiology clinic and all duties necessary to support the clinic Perform physical examinations determine medical histories diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries
  • Assist in facilitating patients for procedures including pre-authorizations working with facilities to coordinate procedures as needed processing orders sending reports back to referring doctors
  • Perform or assist in fluoroscopic studies
  • Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies
  • Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes
  • Perform history and physical examinations and consents of radiology patients
  • Verbal and written communications with referring physicians nurses and other health care professionals regarding patients to assist and facilitate the medical management of the patients
  • Schedule: M Fri (No Weekends)

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas
  • Graduate of accredited program
  • At least one year Physician Assistant experience a plus but not required
  • Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants
  • Certified to perform Basic Life Support and ACLS
