Physician Assistant

Southlake Orthopaedics is looking for a full time Physician Assistant to join our team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the surgeon in surgery
• Perform patient progress notes history and physical intake triage and consults.
• Issue and transcribe diagnostic orders and prescriptions.
• Formulate a working diagnosis develop and implement treatment plans.
• Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
• Evaluate patient status during hospital rounds.
• Perform independent evaluations in emergency situations.
• Verify operating room equipment and materials are in a state of readiness.
• Participate in on-call schedule.
• Offer counseling and education to patients as needed.
• Performs clinical duties including but not limited to wound care injections draw labs apply and remove dressings/bandages casting etc.
• Performs any additional work-related tasks as needed including but not limited to taking nurse calls escorting patients from the waiting area scanning importing disks and room prep.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters Degree Physician Assistant from a program accredited by the ARC-PA required
• Successful completion of PANCE required
• Unrestricted license (or eligibility to apply for licensure) to practice in the state of Alabama required
• 2 years of Orthopaedic surgery experience preferred
