Position Title: Physical Therapists
Location: Staten Island NY 10305
Duration: 2 years
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 10am-2pm
Pay rate: 60$/hr.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assess patients mobility balance strength gait and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve physical function safety and independence.
- Provide therapeutic exercises mobility training fall prevention pain management and functional rehabilitation services.
- Monitor patient progress update treatment goals and adjust interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists physicians nurses occupational therapists social workers and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Ensure a safe therapeutic environment and adhere to hospital policies regulatory requirements and best practices.
To be considered for this position you should have: Skills Education or Experience
- Bachelors Masters or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution and completion of an approved clinical internship or residency program.
- Current and unrestricted New York State Physical Therapist license and BLS certification.
- Minimum 2-5 years of clinical experience preferably in psychiatric behavioral health or inpatient rehabilitation settings.
- Experience treating patients with severe mental illness cognitive impairments substance use disorders neurological conditions and other complex medical comorbidities.
- Strong skills in physical therapy evaluations treatment planning functional mobility gait and balance assessment fall prevention therapeutic exercise and pain management.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care behavioral de-escalation techniques and the impact of psychopharmacological medications on physical function.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams and collaborating on treatment and discharge planning.
- Excellent communication documentation problem-solving and patient engagement skills with proficiency in EHR systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced psychiatric setting while delivering patient-centered recovery-oriented care.
