Job Summary

  • Assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on the evaluation results.
  • Review the Physicians referral (Prescription) and the patients condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required.
  • Provides direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
  • Documents findings progress and instructions to patients and caregivers.
  • Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
  • Completes a written plan of care develops goals based on evaluation findings and develops a comprehensive program to attain goals.
  • Implements physical therapy treatment program and provides essential physical therapy treatments.
  • Communicates effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues including physicians and insurance companies.
  • Ensure timely documentation including daily notes weekly workers compensation reports progress reports initial evaluations discharge summaries and incident reports.

Qualifications :

  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Physical Therapy program.
  • Current Virginia Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care including balance and vestibular rehabilitation.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.
  • Comfortable working independently while effectively managing a diverse patient caseload.
  • Strong communication clinical reasoning and patient education skills.
  • Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
