Duties
  • You will be responsible for assisting the Security Current Operations Division Supervisor (SPB 52) with planning initiating monitoring and evaluating a wide variety of complex strategic weapons-related security programs.
  • You will assist with inventory control physical security of strategic weapons critical structures personnel and access control devices per SECNAVINST S8126.1 and DOD M-S5210.41.
  • You will perform analysis of highly complex strategic weapons security management problems.
  • You will work independently to suggest both short and long-term solutions to problems presenting results of analysis with recommendations in formal point papers to the Security Officer.
  • You will work directly with department/division heads and other management personnel assigned security and administrative programs and with members of ad hoc committees to solve command-wide strategic weapons security related problems.
  • You will perform critical interface with assigned security forces integrating strategic weapons security response concepts into long-range operational plans maintained by the operational commander.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) and Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of the date of hire.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-01 (GS-04 Equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Assisting with the planning or evaluation of physical security programs for high-value assets; conducting physical security audits or site surveys to determine compliance with security procedures or identify vulnerabilities; or analyzing security-related problems to develop and recommend solutions or corrective actions.

Education

Education may be used to substitute for specialized experience:

  • successful completion of a four year course of study leading to a bachelors degree; -OR-
  • a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
