Pharmacy Technician (Weekend shift, 12pm 8pm)

CompleteRx is seeking a weekend part-time Pharmacy Technician to provide exceptional patient care at South Shore Hospital; a 170-bed acute care hospital in South Chicago IL.

Compensation:

• Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
• 2nd Shift Differential: $1.65 per hour

Schedule:

• Every Saturday and Sunday
• 2nd shift: 12pm - 8pm

What You Will Do

• Ensures procurement and distribution of drug orders.
• Identifies and fills replacement medications on emergency crash carts OR carts and floor stock accurately.
• Prepares sterile products (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition) accurately.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately.
• Rotates stock to ensure use before the expiration date.
• Picks up orders requisitions and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately.
• Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.

What You Will Need

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of pharmacy technician experience preferably in a hospital setting.
• Possess current pharmacy technician registration in the State of employment/practice if required.
• Possess National Pharmacy Technician Certification if required in the State of employment/practice. Where not required it is preferred.
• Successful completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training course is preferred.
