Job Summary

  1. Pharmacy technicians assist the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal state and local laws and regulations as well as pharmacy policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  2. - Under the supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with State and Federal Laws fills prescriptions for and assists with daily fills as directed.

  3. - Effectively operates the Pharmacy computer system to ensure timely and accurate prescription documentation and billing.

  4. - Orders supplies and prescription medications under the direction of the Pharmacist.
  5. - Maintains pharmacy Pyxis system restocks outdates restocks meds on a daily basis.
  6. - Understands Facility and Third-party billing guidelines.
  7. - Compliant with infection control procedures and environmental safety protocol within a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.
  8. - Travels between facilities efficiently during scheduled hours as assigned. Makes emergency deliveries as necessary.
  9. - Works varying shifts on a standard rotating schedule including weekends.
  10. - Advises the Pharmacy Manager of any potential or actual problem that may jeopardize Albright Care Services.

Qualifications :

  1. - High School diploma or its equivalent.
  2. - Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience.
  3. - Completion of a nationally and/or state recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification program required.
  4. - Prior experience as a pharmacy technician/data entry technician with good working knowledge of reviewing and entering prescription orders preferred.
  5. - Proficient computer skills necessary for data entry reporting including documentation and billing.  - - An ideal candidate would have experience with PrimeCare/QS1 Pharmacy operations system and have some exposure to Pharmacy Automation (ie. TCGRx)
  6. - Must possess a valid Maryland drivers license and acceptable driving record.
