Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Student Intern at CHI Health Nebraska Heart youll gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting our pharmacists in delivering safe accurate and timely medication therapy. Whether youre beginning your pharmacy career or expanding your clinical experience youll play an important role in helping patients receive the medications they need throughout their recovery.

Every day you will assist with medication preparation distribution and inventory management while collaborating with pharmacists and clinical staff to support high-quality patient care. Youll build your knowledge in a fast-paced inpatient pharmacy setting where teamwork accuracy and exceptional service are essential.

  • Prepare fill and distribute unit-dose medications while performing medication exchanges for designated nursing units.
  • Assist pharmacists with the preparation of sterile intravenous admixtures under appropriate supervision.
  • Maintain prescription records answer and triage phone calls and support efficient daily pharmacy operations.
  • Monitor medication inventory levels replenish stock and maintain order-book items to ensure medications are available when needed for patient care.
Job Requirements
  • Registered in a school of pharmacy 1-2 years
  • Must be registered in Nebraska as a Pharmacy Intern registration must be held in the State of Nebraska
