Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm PST

Job Summary
As a Pharmacist Intern at AmeriPharma you will be expected to comply with all relevant policies procedures codes and pharmacy standards. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist you will assist with tasks that do not require a licensed pharmacist to perform. The Intern Pharmacist will support licensed pharmacists in the daily operations of the pharmacy in accordance with departmental policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receive new prescription orders from authorized prescribers or individuals permitted by law.
Consult with patients or their legal representatives about prescriptions either before or after dispensing or provide information regarding any medical details in the patients medication record system.
Identify evaluate and interpret prescriptions accurately.
Ensure optimal medication prescribing in terms of indication dosage route frequency allergy history and avoid duplication or interactions with other medications.
Assist in the transfer of prescriptions between pharmacies ensuring proper documentation and adherence to legal requirements.
Provide confident and professional patient consultations
Participate in pharmacy-related tasks and programs including supporting short-staffed areas and other necessary duties as directed.
Assist in making timely changes to meet regulatory accreditation licensing and government agency standards and laws.
Additional duties and responsibilities in different areas of the department on an as-need basis or determined by management.
Foster a culture of accountability integrity collaboration and service excellence.
Complete patient assessments and medication review.
Complete quality assurance reports.
Complete literature review and other research projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Pharmacist Intern licensure in the state of California.
Proficiency in reading writing speaking and understanding English.
Basic math and analytical skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Accuracy and efficiency in performing tasks.
Reliable and dependable - excellent attendance is required.
Positive and a team player.
Attentive and detailed.
Fast learner.
Ability to multitask .
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to adapt to new processes and priorities.
Must have open availability - available at least a minimum of 3 full days 8:30am-4:30pm per week M-F.
