Seeking a well-rounded multi-talented individual to serve as a Performance Assurance Specialist in one of multiple performance assurance areas of responsibility. The position necessitates that the individual be flexible in the ability to transition work assignments as needed based on Safeguards and Security (S&S) priorities in one of the following areas: Performance Testing Self-Assessments Strategic Reporting and/or Issues Management. All positions directly support the performance assurance mission by reviewing collecting analyzing and reporting data resulting from various data gathering methodologies.
Performance Testing responsibilities include: conducts performance testing of physical protection systems; performs testing of interior and exterior Intrusion Detection and Assessment Systems (IDAS) by walking running jumping crawling and climbing as required by Department of Energy (DOE) order; conducts performance testing of Protective Force personnel specific to scaled Force-on-Force (FOF) exercises Limited Scope Performance Testing (LSPTs) and Alarm Response Assessment Performance Tests (ARAPTs); develops and executes innovative performance tests potentially acting in an adversary/opposition force (OPFOR) role to further strengthen the security posture; writes performance test plans/reports and coordinates multi-faceted performance testing activities; briefs test plans and results to management and federal stakeholders; works closely with S&S Vulnerability Assessments to implement DOE Order and site specific requirements supporting S&S mission obligations.
- Bachelors degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.
- Masters degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- OR applicants without a bachelors degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

- Knowledgeable of tactical response force continuum arrest authority and small-scale battle space command and control structure
- Demonstrated skill in planning organizing and executing operational events and applying principles in Conduct of Operations Performance Assessment Root Cause Analysis and Trending of Performance Related Data to resolve issues and improve operational effectiveness
- Knowledge and ability to assess implementation of the Contractor Requirements Document (CRD) for applicable Safeguards and Security topical areas which include: Protective Force Physical Security Systems Nuclear Material Control and Accountability Program Management Operations Information Security and Personnel Security
- Detailed knowledge of Pantex and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/DOE security requirements procedures and regulations is highly desirable
- Knowledgeable of opposition force theory or principles of military special operations
- Demonstrated skill in analyzing operational issues and applying effective judgment in the analysis of proposed actions
- Highly motivated and possess teaming communication computing and organizational skills
- Experience in physically facilitating performance testing as required by DOE O 473.2A Protective Force Operations
- Possess a Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI) Reviewing Official and Derivative Classifier certification or the ability to achieve the certification
- Required to work occasionally on weekends or evenings due to mission critical S&S Performance Assurance requirements
- Required to travel occasionally to support performance testing and assessment activity associated with off-site possessing facilities
- Possess strong writing public speaking and verbal presentation skills as briefings to senior management and DOE/headquarters (HQ) personnel may be required
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of technical issues
- Ability to meet deliverable schedule dates with a quality product and the ability to perform independently and achieve desired results with little supervision
- High level of physical fitness as job may require running jumping crawling climbing and manipulating heavy loads under stress
