The Music Percussion Instructor will support teachers and students in of Duties:* Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement lessons.* Assisting with instruction assessment and logistics (concerts performances showcases etc.) as determined by the band Responsibilities:* Facilitate student involvement in music activities* Rehearse small groups of students as needed* Provide extra support for students * Support and assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans* Monitor document and report on activities as needed* Maintaining musical instrumentsDesired Skills and Experience:* Proficient Percussionist* Professional or Industry Experience in Music (performance teaching etc.)* Background and/or familiarity with ensemble music* Basic knowledge of instrumental function/design/tuning/pedagogy* Experience working with grade 6-12 students* Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations including youth and adults* Strong oral and written communication skills including public speaking skills* Ability to work independently and be flexible
