Job Summary
Coverage Area: St. Louis City St. Louis County and surrounding rural counties (Warren St. Charles St. Francois Franklin Washington Lincoln Ste. Genevieve Crawford and Jefferson)
Position Summary: The Peer Support Specialist acts as a role model and mentor to veteran families navigating recovery from substance use mental illness and homelessness. Working alongside the case management team this role provides emotional and informational support to help veterans achieve self-sufficiency and housing stability.
Key Responsibilities
Use a peer-to-peer approach to build rapport mentor and advocate for clients working toward recovery goals.
Receive case manager referrals to support clients with substance use mental health or other identified stability needs.
Connect clients with relevant VA benefits and local community resources.
Collaborate closely with the case management team to share ideas and support mutual client goals.
Assess clients to determine SSVF program eligibility.
