25.14 - 26.44 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Service Planning Area 1 & 7 (Lancaster Bellflower)

Working Hours/Shift:

Mon - Fri: 8 AM - 5 PM

What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED HiSET etc.) required.

  • College degree preferred.

Experience

  • Lived experience as a parent of a child who received services from DCFS DMH Probation and worked through it to be able to share their experience and assist other familiesOR

  • Personal/lived experience as a consumer of services from DCFS DMH Probation recovery from SUD and worked through it to be able to share their experience and assist other families.

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with SED youth.

Licensure & Certification:

  • Valid California Drivers License and maintenance of a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy

  • SB803 - Peer Support Specialist Certification required

  • SB803 - Supervisor Training must be completed within seven (7) days of hire

How you will make a difference:

The Peer Advocate Coordinator provides direct supervision to Parent Partners ensuring that direct reports attend the Child & Family Team (CFT) and actively participate in development of the CFT. The Peer Advocate Coordinator participates in Network meetings and training as appropriate. Peer Advocate Coordinators assist staff in the documentation of mental health services assign cases problem solving with professional staff represent SBHG HFW programs in the community and within state outreach agencies as well as hiring and training staff.

Division/Program Overview:

  • Programs: High Fidelity Wraparound services:Comprehensive Behavioral & Social Support Services Crisis response team-based approach

  • Population Served:Children Youth and Families battling trauma mental illness neglect or substance abuse

  • Facility & Setting:Multidisciplinary program sites serving SPA

  • Clinical Services:Trauma-informed care mental health treatment behavioral interventions and parental skill enhancement

  • Length of Stay:Based on need average stay is 18 months

  • Skills & Transition:

    • Strengths-based empowerment resilience building and long-term recovery/re-integration support

    • Family support skill development advocacy and comprehensive community resources
