Payroll Specialist

About the Role

The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations for one of the assigned Payrolls using the companys electronic payroll system including processing new hires separations and any payroll updates; processing any leave requests; and handling special projects for the Payroll Department.

What Youll Do

• Process new hires and input benefit enrollment data salary increases and separations.
• Prepare paychecks and direct deposit transactions for employees.
• Verify accuracy of Electronic Time Submission and paycheck calculation using UKG.
• Process employee wage garnishments including Internal Revenue Service levies Child Support Orders and Chapter 13 deductions.
• Manage paid and unpaid leaves of absence including FMLA paperwork.
• Create and process detailed payroll reports for management.
• Analyze payroll processes and make recommendations to the Payroll Manager when needed.
• Prepare and maintain payroll and employee files.
• Other duties as assigned.

What Were Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Requires 1 to 2 years of relevant payroll processing experience.
• General knowledge of payroll procedures and IRS tax laws.
• Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook Excel Word and PowerPoint.
