Job Summary
DNV is seeking a Payroll Specialist. As a Payroll Specialist youll play an important role in our GSS HR payroll team making sure payroll processes run smoothly and accurately across North America. Your keen attention to detail will be essential as you review payroll records spot inconsistencies and confirm all transactions are completed correctly and on schedule. By verifying information carefully youll help prevent mistakes and keep our payroll operations reliable.

In this role you will collaborate closely with various departments including HR and Finance to streamline payroll operations and resolve any discrepancies that may arise. The ability to manage multiple tasks with precision and deliver accurate results on time will be key to your success in this position. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll policies and procedures ensuring that they align with the latest regulations and best practices.
This position will be located at our office in Houston TX - Hybrid Model (3 days in office/2 days remote)
What Youll Do
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all payroll-related information.

- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience.
- Experience managing payroll for 600 employees.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel (Pivot Tables formulas and data analysis).
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Resourceful adaptable and collaborative team player.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

What is preferred
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and Oracle applications.
- Experience processing Canadian payroll.
- Experience managing multi-entity payroll operations.
