Job Summary
Grand Forks County is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join the Finance & Tax Department. This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration and processing of County payroll including payroll calculations deductions tax withholdings reconciliations reporting compliance and maintaining accurate payroll records.
The Payroll Specialist serves as a primary resource for County departments and employees regarding payroll questions and procedures. This position works closely with departmental payroll contacts Accounting Human Resources employees and payroll system vendors to ensure payroll is accurate timely and compliant with applicable laws and County policies.

Status and Hours
Full-time Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm benefits eligible. There might be a variation to work hours and days to support the office and County needs. This position is not eligible for teleworking.

Basic Requirements
Associate or bachelors degree preferred in accounting finance business administration or a related field. Two to five years of payroll processing experience. Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position may be considered.
