POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Manager oversees the administration processing and compliance of payroll operations for Bedrock. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing maintaining compliance with applicable federal state and local regulations managing payroll systems and audits and partnering with People Strategy Tax and other business teams to support payroll-related activities. The Payroll Manager drives operational efficiency maintains payroll data integrity and serves as a subject matter expert for payroll questions processes compliance and reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage end-to-end payroll processing activities to ensure accurate and timely payment of team members.
Administer payroll systems and processes ensuring data integrity system functionality and compliance with company policies.
Review and validate payroll data including new hires transfers compensation changes leaves of absence and separations.
Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll tax regulations wage and hour requirements and applicable employment laws.
Process and reconcile payroll-related deductions garnishments taxes benefit elections and other withholding requirements.
Manage payroll audits and support internal and external audit requests.
Develop maintain and implement payroll procedures controls and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Partner with People Strategy and Tax teams and other stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll-related data and reporting.
Research investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies complex payroll issues and team member inquiries.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports tax filings reconciliations and other required payroll documentation.
Support payroll system implementations upgrades testing and ongoing system maintenance activities.
Monitor changes in payroll legislation regulatory requirements and industry practices and implement necessary process updates.
Provide guidance and support to team members and leaders regarding payroll policies practices and procedures.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
5 years of progressive payroll experience including responsibility for payroll administration compliance and payroll operations.
Experience processing multi-state payroll and maintaining compliance with applicable payroll tax and wage and hour regulations.
Experience administering payroll systems and supporting payroll-related system implementations upgrades or enhancements.
Experience managing payroll audits reconciliations reporting and compliance activities.
Experience partnering with Human Resources Benefits Finance and other business stakeholders.
Strong proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
Workday payroll experience preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Bedrock is an in-person five-day-a-week workplace. All team members are expected to work on site Monday through Friday during standard business hours unless otherwise specified by their role or designated shift.
Some roles may have flexibility to work remotely on Fridays based on the nature of the work and business needs. This flexibility is granted at the discretion of the Company and may be adjusted at any time.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use; occasional movement between buildings; ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
