Job Summary
Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive patient experience Join our Sleep Therapy Clinic as a Patient Service Representative (PSR) where you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors while helping ensure smooth and efficient clinic operations.
The Patient Service Representative plays a critical role in delivering an outstanding patient experience by managing front desk operations supporting clinic workflows and maintaining accurate patient records. This position requires strong communication skills attention to detail and a commitment to professionalism and patient-centered care.
- Welcome patients and visitors in a prompt courteous and professional manner verifying patient identity and ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage front office operations including answering phones creating Epic charts processing mail scanning documents managing RightFax and making copies.
- Perform all patient check-in check-out and appointment scheduling activities accurately and efficiently.
- Balance and reconcile a personal cash drawer daily maintaining accurate cash counts and documentation.
- Demonstrate working knowledge and routine maintenance of clinic office equipment including computers scanners copiers fax machines calculators postage equipment and credit card processing devices.
- Review departmental communications promptly participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Support and adapt to new Epic enhancements workflow changes and clinic initiatives.
- Maintain a clean safe and welcoming reception and waiting area in accordance with Infection Control guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and complete incident reporting requirements as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with organizational privacy policies and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of electronic health records (EHRs) and patient charts.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients healthcare providers and team members.
- Basic computer proficiency including data entry and word processing.
- Excellent customer service skills with a patient-focused approach and the ability to handle questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail particularly when managing patient information appointment scheduling and documentation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold privacy standards at all times.
- Adaptability and composure in a fast-paced healthcare environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to successfully complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training following hire.
- Ability to occasionally push pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform activities including gripping reaching bending kneeling twisting and squatting as needed.
Experience
- One year of medical office healthcare or related administrative experience preferred.
