Job Overview

As a PCT on the Stepdown Unit youll support nurses in caring for patients who require closer monitoring than a traditional medâsurg setting. Youll assist with hygiene mobility vital signs documentation and provide compassionate bedside care including support for patients nearing the end of life. Your steady presence and attention to detail help ensure patients receive safe highâquality care during critical points in their recovery.

What Youll Do

  • Assist with bathing oral care toileting and linens
  • Support safe mobility repositioning and transfers
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Document patient information accurately
  • This role includes exposure to bodily fluids and sensitive patient situations
  • Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

About the Stepdown Unit

The Midtown Stepdown Unit is a 22âbed unit specializing in ICU stepdown care for complex medicalâsurgical cardiac stroke and sepsis patients who require closer monitoring. Known for strong teamwork structured orientation and a healthy work environment this unit is a great place to work.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of required PCT classes for the unit
