St. Elizabeth specializes in the treatment areas of newborn and pediatric care womens health burn and wound cardiology oncology emergency medicine orthopedics and neuroscience.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As ourPatient Access Representativeyou will be a vital front-line professional responsible for facilitating seamless patient registration and admitting functions across various hospital access points including the Emergency Department and main registration. Your role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient data which directly supports efficient workflows and contributes to a positive patient experience. You will serve as a key link between patients their families and our healthcare teams operating within a framework of relationship-based care and strict organizational compliance.

Every day you will gather verify and update critical patient demographic and insurance information while managing confidential documentation within the electronic health record. You will perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification communicate financial responsibilities to patients and collect payments at the time of service. Additionally you will schedule and revise appointments scan and index patient records and provide high-quality support via telephone and other communication channels to ensure smooth patient access and operational continuity.

To be successful in this role you will need a high school diploma or GED and one year of relevant experience in a healthcare or patient access setting along with a solid understanding of insurance payers and registration procedures. You must possess strong analytical communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume workloads and resolve routine discrepancies independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry combined with a commitment to maintaining patient privacy and adherence to all regulatory standards is required to help us advance our mission and values through excellence in revenue cycle operations.

Job Requirements

  • High School Graduate upon hire Required or
  • High School GED upon hire Required and
  • 1 year relevant experience in healthcare patient access setting is preferred along with knowledge of the following: patient registration procedures and documentation knowledge of health insurance payers and real-time insurance eligibility verifications.
