As our Pathology Department Support Assistant you will perform complex customer service and clerical duties with little to no supervision.
Every day you will handle clerical processing and assist with correspondence for Pathologists serving as a resource for the pathology department.
To be successful in this role you will bring strong organizational and customer service skills along with the ability to work independently. You will need to be a reliable resource for the pathology team.
- Answers telephones promptly and routes customer calls appropriately.
- Assures faxed results are complete. Makes all necessary calls according to policy and documents communications according to department procedures.
- Prepares specimens and slides for distribution to reference laboratories. Receives reference lab reports and files reports as defined in department procedures for send outs.
- Assists with timely billing of referral testing to patient records. Maintains records pulling filing and reconciling issues.
- Performs daily follow up on unverified and/or pending test orders or account information.
- Ensures customer satisfaction through processing orders and coordinating customer services needs in a professional manner.
Required:
- High School Graduate and 3 years related experience or
- High School GED and 3 years related experience
