Pathologist Assistant Surgical Pathology Part-time

The Pathologist Assistant assists pathologists in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection and performance of human postmortem examinations. Assists with and/or performs gross dictation of complex surgical specimens. As directed by supervising pathologist(s) manager or administrator may assume other responsibilities including work flow management research and/or teaching duties. Assesses data reflective of the patients status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patients age-specific needs.

Graduate of a Masters Level approved Pathologists Assistant program. PA(ASCP) - Must be attained within one year of start date.

Additional Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology medical practices and human anatomy. Focused attention to detail communication skills strong problem-solving capabilities accountability. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span.
