Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilledParts/Service Technicianto join our team in Alpena MI. This role is essential in supporting our customers by diagnosing issues troubleshooting equipment and providing expert guidance on shredder systems. If you enjoy solving problems working with industrial machinery and delivering excellent service wed love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries related to shredder equipment parts and service.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting repairs and maintenance.
- Interpret technical manuals schematics and blueprints; guide customers through repairs.
- Send drawings and instructions to repair companies for accurate assemblies.
- Recommend machine modifications to meet specific customer needs.
- Quote replacement parts pull orders and calculate labor costs.
- Package parts and cutter heads; determine shipping costs.
- Address warranty issues and resolve workmanship or part defects.
- Collaborate with engineering to improve product design and resolve recurring issues.
- Track design changes and new parts that enhance product functionality.
- Work with manufacturing to ensure machines are assembled correctly.
- Coordinate powder coat colors for accurate matching.
- Pull job orders and confirm terms with accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation using company software.

- Collaborate across departments to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction
- Travel occasionally for service calls and represent the company professionally
